Our Framework

Scotland's International Yoga Day is rooted in something deeper than physical movement — it is grounded in authenticity, lineage, and rightful custodianship. Yoga, as understood through Vedic psychology, is a pathway to union: aligning body, mind, and consciousness. It originates from the Hindu tradition, where its wisdom has been preserved, practiced, and passed down through generations. Recognising this lineage is not about exclusion — it is about integrity. When the custodians of this knowledge are honoured, the essence of yoga remains intact, allowing it to serve its true purpose: inner harmony and collective wellbeing.

From this foundation, the structure of Scotland's International Yoga Day Framework naturally unfolds through our three vitality components — each reflecting key principles of Vedic thought.

Community Vitality

Reflects the principle of balance and harmony. By making wellness accessible to every corner of Scotland, regardless of age, ability, or background, the initiative nurtures a collective upliftment. When individuals are supported in their wellbeing, the entire community becomes more aligned and resilient.

Bliss Vitality

Addresses overactivity and restlessness, commonly seen in modern work culture. By partnering with leading industries, this pillar introduces practices that calm the nervous system, reduce stress, and foster mindful productivity. It shifts workplaces from burnout-driven environments to spaces of sustainable energy and purpose.

Life Vitality

Embodies the joy and playfulness of life. Joy is not separate from wellbeing; it is essential to it. Through celebration, movement, and shared experiences, this component reminds us that connection and laughter are powerful healers.

Together, these three vitality components create a living expression of yoga that is both authentic and accessible — honouring its roots while allowing it to flourish in Scotland's unique cultural landscape.
